Healthy Winter skin tips

Healthy Winter skin tips

As Winter is starting to approach it is important that we are showing our skin that extra bit of TLC. Approaching Winter, the cold temperatures start to reduce the blood circulation in our body which transforms our skin to turn quite dull, dry and flaky.

The key to maintaining a hydrated and brighter looking complexion through the colder months is to buff away all those dead skin cells and infuse your skin with hydrating ingredients. By exfoliating and infusing the skin with super hydrating active ingredients you will keep your skin glowing all Winter.

Best moisturiser for dehydrated skin

Switching your moisturisers in Winter to something a little more rich and nourishing will do wonders for your skin in these colder months.

Filled with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients to hydrate and protect the skin, Aspect Dr Resveratrol contains pure grape skin extracts and peptides to nourish the skin and restore moisture content.

If you're after a super-rich moisturiser that absorbs immediately into the skin providing instant relief to dry, Aspect Gold SMC is your product, designed specifically for dehydrated skin with ageing concerns. This moisturising complex provides barrier function support and also protects against free radical damage.

For dry and stressed skin Aspect Gold Hydrating Mask is your go-to product. Containing anti-ageing and hydrating ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Shea Butter, Olive oil and Grape Seed Extract, this mask provides super hydration. Leave this mask on for 20 minutes or for extra nourishment you can leave it on overnight as a super hydrating treatment for your skin.

Best hydrating serum for dehydrated skin

Hydrating serums added into your skin care routine will help to penetrate and make sure those active ingredients are delivered into a deeper level of the skin. Serums such as Aspect Dr Hyaluronic Serum is specifically formulated with a unique blend of hyaluronic acid that replenishes the skin's moisture content and repairs dry or inflamed skin, while soothing, calming and hydrating. Hyaluronic acid is an ingredient that can hold up to 1000x its weight in water therefore helping to plump and hydrate our skin.

For skin suffering from dryness and irritation I recommend Synergie De-stress facial oil. This skin serum is formulated from pure olive squalene which is an organic olive extract. It is full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and is moisturising, calming and protecting.

Dehydrated skin treatments

To reveal a fresh, brighter complexion with no downtime, the combination of an in clinic Hyaluronic Delivery Mask combined with LED light therapy is a luxurious way to hydrate your skin. Not only is it excellent for hydration, it is a go-to pre-event treatment for many of my patients. Combining the Hyaluronic Delivery Mask and LED together are excellent for revealing a fresher, brighter and extremely hydrated skin.

If a couple hours of downtime is not a problem then DermaFrac is recommended to give instant hydration and plumping to the skin. Combining a unique combination of micro needling, suction and active ingredient infusion the DermaFrac is a three in one treatment.

Exfoliate your Winter skin

Exfoliation is such an important part in our skincare routine to ensure our skin is kept smooth and even. Exfoliation ensures all of our other active skin care and serums are penetrating deep into our skin to help the results become more effective.

At home skin exfoliation

If feeling and seeing your dead skin ball up as it's being removed is something you'd love to experience then the Aspect Dr Fruit Enzyme Mask is my top at home product suggestion. It is an antioxidant-rich fruit enzyme mask designed to eliminate dead skin build up and dissolve excessively peeling skin. Simply apply to dry skin and massage into skin in a circular motion until the product starts to dry and ball up, then rinse with water revealing soft and smooth skin.

For those who prefer a facial scrub you can polish your skin to perfection with Aspect Gold Cellablation. Use this gentle microdermabrasion cream to reveal the beautiful complexion that lies just beneath the surface of dull, dry and tired looking skin. Best used in the shower to reveal smooth and glowing skin.

An alternative to facial scrubs and enzymes are exfoliation serums. Exfoliation serums contain natural acids such as AHAs and BHAs to assist with the turnover of dead skin cells. Synergie Reveal is an exfoliation serum that promotes softer, smoother and more hydrated skin. This product enhances the penetration of other active ingredients in your skin routine, removes dead surface cells and improves skin surface texture. It is recommended to use this one to two times per week as an exfoliant.

Professional exfoliation treatments

Whilst at home exfoliation is ideal for maintenance, most people require a professional treatment to kick start the process. Lactic acid chemical peels are extremely hydrating and gently resurface dull & ageing skin. Lactic peels are also great for stimulating natural collagen production and provide very little downtime.

Another option to consider is the a Triple Exfoliation Microdermabrasion, which can be specifically tailored to any skin type to mechanically remove all the dead skin cell build up. It speeds up the skin renewal process allowing new healthy cells to take their place which is resulting in bright, vibrant, and smooth looking skin.

The best skin care and skin treatments

Knowing what skin care products to adjust or introduce to your skin can be simply overwhelming, so if you feel you need an updated regime, I would advise booking a consultation with one of our qualified Skin Therapists to determine a medical grade skin care and treatment plan to give the best results. You can book an appointment by phoning 1300 863 824.
